Wrap-up Article

A HUGE mahalo to all the players that came to play and supported the 2023 Big Island Open Tournament. Thanks also goes out to the local players that came by and assisted in scorekeeping, cleaning, warming up players, donating money, and helping in any way. A special mahalo to John Romoa for the fantastic salad each day and for his time in helping to setup everything, bringing some donated Starbuck's coffee, bringing some breakfast pastries, L&L lunch on Saturday, and everything else he contributed to the tournament. Although we had a much smaller group than usual; all players got their entry fee worth, playing 12 individual matches in Saturday's Super Round Robin. Special thank you's to Mike, Carlos, and Alec from Oahu, Alix from Oregon, and Armadillo from Maui. Another thank you to Carlos Ko for giving of his time some coaching to a few players that asked him questions. The Waimea Community Center is so much better now without the wall that used to be in the middle. Again, mahalo to all for supporting Hawai'i Table Tennis and this tournament and pushing for the continued growth of our great sport.
