Aloha All!
What a fantastic event! I cannot express fully how great the tournament was....Mahalo to all the players coming from Oahu and from Maui. Getting the opportunity to play others was a very rewarding experience for all. So many people to mahalo...From John Romoa who set up all the food and goodies as well as covering the windows, helping to setup the tables, and so much more. We had setup and/or take down assistance from Rocco & Takumi, Goran, Jacob, Kimi, Joe and Donna, Jarett and others that I apologize for forgetting. (blaming my old age) Mahalo to all those that donated to provide for the delicious food, drinks, snacks, ability to increase prize money for all event 1st and 2nd place winners, and other items needed to run a successful tournament. The day ran long but was continuous play. I think it actually went on schedule and the software worked well, with only a few glitches. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and found it to be a rewarding experience. The tournament was totally full and it was the first tournament I ran in Hawai'i, since 2008, that actually had a wait list. A very special MAHALO to the Aloha Table Tennis Association for their donation and for all the players that they brought from Oahu. A special Mahalo to Joe from Maui for coming to play and providing us with the delicious Krispy Kreme donuts (not available on Big Island)! A total of 139 matches were played; WOW! Mahalo again to everyone that participated in any way to make it a success. I look forward to more USATT Sanctioned Hawai'i Table Tennis Tournaments.
